Edited on December 28, 2020 to reflect that the Quilt Spot’s retail location is closed.
New Jersey’s annual shop hop started this past Friday and runs through May 1. It includes 9 shops across the state. I don’t think I have time to get to the seven in central to south Jersey but I did visit two on Sunday.
The shop is small. But that is okay because Linsee has impeccable taste and maximizes the space. She has a good collection of mixers along with solids, denim, the latest prints and lots of pre-cuts. Her taste has a distinctively modern flair, but there is something for traditionalists too. She also has a fair amount of notions and patterns, and a small sale section. The shop recently moved and I think she is still re-building inventory, but there is plenty here to make it worth a visit.
The theme of the shop hop this year is Earth Day and each shop is providing a new pattern based on the theme. The Quilt Stop did this great recycled denim quilt. It is very well done and I found it to be quite masculine which is nice.
I found some goodies – a ruler for triangles and hexagons, graphite denim to use as a bag lining and two fun prints. I always keep white strips on hand and want to do a dark quilt so I picked up the black strips too. And a few FQs of course. Just because they were pretty.
The Quilt Spot is located at 26 Goffle Road in Midland Park, NJ or online at http://www.thequiltspotnj.com. Park in the back and use the back door.
