Normally when I write about worlds colliding it has to do with my day job and my crafting. But not today…

Today my crafting is colliding with fashion. I love that the fashion world is picking up on the beauty of quilted details. This isn’t really a new idea – Burberry and others have been doing it for years in the coat area and Chanel perfected the quilted bag. But, I thought this email from Bloomingdales was in fact, “sew cool!” Some of the intricate stitching i see on modern quilts would be amazingly beautiful in fashion and would make simple pieces much more interesting.

Retail therapy with quilting is definitely for me! A friend is coming to see on Sunday. I think I will make a quilted skirt for work. Wish me luck!
