I have been making these cute canning jar hostess gifts. They are quick, simple, and best of all are a thoughtful gift as it doesn’t require the hostess to do any work when you hand it to her. Each jar contains two tea towels and the jar can be used as a vase or for small storage when the towels come out.
Here is what you need:
- 1 wide mouth quart size canning jar. They have them at target, Joann fabrics, etc.
- 2 tea towels. If you don’t have an embroidery machine, you can buy them decorated or do your own with appliqué or fabric markers.
- 1 6″ square piece of coordinating fabric
- 1 14″ piece of ribbon
First, roll your towels and stuff the jar. Seems obvious but I have had people ask me how I got the towels in the jar.
Then put the inner lid on, add a piece of fabric over it, and then screw the outer lid on to keep the fabric in place. You will see the fabric on top of the jar and on the sides.
Lastly, add a coordinating bow. And there you have a quick, simple and tasteful gift. Happy Thanksgiving!
