I sure hope you all had a great thanksgiving with family and friends. It is one of my favorite holidays as it is a chance to reflect on our many blessings and solely focus on good friends, good family, and… Good food. Our two day cooking marathon started with my annual batch of sweet and spicy pecans. Or triple-patch as the case may be.
Thursday was an early morning as we had to get up and make the pies. I always enjoy the quiet of thanksgiving morning when everyone is asleep and I can move around the kitchen in silence. Two pies before 8am was very productive!
I had fun trying make the food look as good as it tasted. And really enjoyed Maddie getting in on the fun with her cheese and meat turkey that she made from a Pinterest image.
The final result was adorable!
This was the first two day break from sewing I have had in a long time. Even when I don’t sew due to work, I am always doing something – ordering fabric, a quick embroidery, tending to the etsy shop or craft shows. The last two days I did none of that – but am now ready to go!
Oh yeah! It is now officially the holidays! Happy holidays all!
