We have had a mild winter so far in northern New Jersey, but all that changed today. I took this photo a few hours ago, and since then they have upped our forecast to 18-24 inches.
Shockingly the Starbucks in our local Acme harassed Maddie into going to work. She sent me this snapchat on her way in, and yes, she is quite the hard worker. So while she is making mochas for people who should not be on the roads, I have some free time in the sewing room. What’s a girl to do?
Yep. I am sorting scraps. I doubt these 15 bins will be enough to hold them all but it is a good start. I have scraps everywhere and even have stared saving fabric in other rooms of the house. Something has to give.
So, I am organizing scraps today. I save as small as 1″x4″ strips or 2″ squares and up to a fat quarter. Fat quarters themselves are sorted by color in an old library filing card cabinet. Today I am sorting by color: white, pinks, reds, oranges, Browns, creams/tans, yellows/golds, greens, teals, blues, purples, blacks/greys, adult novelty prints, kids novelty prints, and holiday prints. One they are organized I am going to hopefully work on some scrap quilts to make some more room. The perfect project for a snowy day!
