QuiltCon was amazing in Savannah last weekend. After spending a ton of time at the show and then visiting downtown Savannah, Jen and I summoned an Uber and zipped off to See Much More Quilt Shop in Garden City, right outside of Savannah. 

It is a fine shop with a little bit of everything. You can find some modern fabrics and some novelty prints, and batiks, and some more traditional stuff, and all the holidays are covered. 

They have ample samples, although I do wish some were displayed in such a way that you could see the entire quilt. 

They have a roomy classroom that seems like it would be comfortable for taking classes. In the back of the classroom, they had a minimal amount of sale fabric. It was the first thing they said to us when we walked in, so I was surprised by the selection to be honest. 

I thought this quilt in the classroom was awesome. I have done a few string quilts and thought the blending in this one gave it a nice painterly approach, which I really liked. 

This shop also sells machines and cabinets and appeared to have a decent selection. 

All I managed to buy was two yards of sale fabrics. Those of you who know me, know that is highly unusual. Part of it may be all the QuiltCon shopping. But part of it was that this shop didn’t really have a personality to me. The signs are kind of sloppy, there is stuff everywhere, and it is all a little less organized than the shops that I love. That carries over to the customer service. After my fabric was cut I went to the register and was pretty much ignored. The woman who cut my fabric wasn’t helping another customer, she was chatting with another employee. Weird. 

 I think if you are a local and regular you would probably have a different experience. It is a fine shop and you will find things, but to me, it isn’t one that I would say I can’t wait to come back to. If you are in the area, give them a try and see for yourself.
