Handmade Christmas 2017 – The Last Few

This is getting ridiculous with how late I am posting a few handmade Christmas gifts, but hey, I made a lot this year so it is what it is. First up, a Christmas quilt for a special client and friend.

I did this with a layer cake of Robert Kauffman holiday fabric that has gold running through it. At 50″ x 70″, this quilt is perfect for a cozy lap quilt or to hang for the holidays! I’ve been making this quilt for years, and it is available as a pattern called The Cut Up.

The quilting is holly leaves with curls, which I really love. I enjoyed making this quilt, and love this pattern. I can do it on auto-pilot and will definitely do it again.

Speaking of auto-pilot, this simple charm square quilt for Perri was also easy to piece but the fabric really keeps it interesting. I used two charm packs, and picked a pale peach solid from my stash for the sashing and binding. The border is a neutral floral from the fabric collection. Perri is such a great colleague and sweet friend, who works very hard and puts up wit me, so I had to come up with a quilt for her!

The quilting is a pretty allover Trillium leaf pattern.

I hope she likes it. Better yet, I hope she loves it!

Lastly, I finished up some enrollee for a cute pair or brothers and a cute pair of sisters. The dinosaurs are for a colleague Seth’s sons. Just because what little boy doesn’t need a dinosaur sweatshirt? And the unicorns are for a colleague Bud’s daughters. His wife made lovely Santa sacks for Maddie, Sophia, my niece and my nephew. So I wanted to return the favor with these adorable sweatshirts from Target with the embroidery I added.

And now, my Handmade Christmas 2017 is officially a wrap!
