I have been playing with batiks a lot lately and really love strip and string piecing. I created this simple pattern today to showcase coordinating batiks and really like how it came out. I love pink, but this color combination is outside my comfort zone for home decor. I think these pillows would look really great in a bedroom or anywhere that a pop of color is needed.
For those that want to make one of these pillows, the left and right rectangles are cut 5″ x 12.5″, the center is 5.5″ x 12.5″ and the sashing strips are 1.5″ x 12.5″. The finished pillow is 16″ x 12″ which is a standard size for a purchased pillow insert. The back is made from two pieces that are 11.5″ x 12″5 inches with a rolled hem at the center and then overlapped to form an envelope so you can remove the pillow insert.
This is a great and fast pattern to use of scraps that are leftover from other projects!
