Happy first day of spring!!! I was hoping for warmer weather, and was hoping to not have a cold. I called in sick today but ended up working a solid ten hours anyway. So, to feel better about things, I had to make a spring table topper and runner.
This pattern is from Atkinson Designs. I picked it up this weekend and really love it. In this case I used a little bit of Easter fabric with a whole lot of happy spring colors. I haven’t quilted it yet, but in terms of something that says “happy spring,” it works for me.
Next up a happy charm square runner made from some bright spring 5″ squares that were left over from a baby quilt. It is a cute and quick pattern that went even faster by quilting it on the longarm machine.
This was pretty simple. 24 5″ squares with a half yard of the focus fabric for the stars, backing and binding. I love how the focus fabric pops against the light 5″ squares.
Since I still have more if this fabric I think I will try this fabric in the hexagon pattern next.
