Our Little Quilt Show

I have to say, Jen and I were quite productive this week. Beyond hanging around in Rangeley, boating, Smalls Falls, quilt shop visits, atv’ing, kayaking, feeding the kids and some adult beverages, we got a lot done. The final tally was 12 quilts ranging from a table mat for Tim’s truck to throws. Some still need borders but you get the idea.
Our house had such a great deck that we decided we had to have a little quilt show. For ourselves. And the kids even had a look.

Jen made two of these baby quilts. I love the bright colors she used as they are really happy and very interesting. She is going to add a border to pull it all together.

I liked hers so much that I made two, one in a teal color way and one in pink.   I also did two of these colorful baby quilts. Each is made from a charm pack of pastel Hoffman batiks with 2.5″ strips for sashing. Very simple, but very pretty and soft. I have two of the jewel tone packs too but didn’t get to them yet.

This is another charm pack quilt that Jen made. It uses all 5″ squares except for the border. It looks awesome and really makes 5″ squares look more special. She has another one of these planned using grey instead of white for the background. Can’t wait to see it done.

I made two of these fun animal print baby quilts. They will get a 5″ border of the animal print on white to tie it all together.

This is my favorite of the week. I still have to finish the first white border, add a red thinner border and then finish it with another round of white but I love it. It features Kaffe Fassett fabric and is a pattern called “Double the Fun” because it is reversible in the magazine. It’s a really sophisticated quilt in its simplicity. Oddly I have a lot of this fabric in a lap quilt kit so they will go together in my sewing room when they are both done.

It was an awesome week. We always have so much fun with the Gray’s and the kids are all great friends. While the trip is over I am sure we will have some fun on the ride home – and we still get to quilt all these wonderful beauties!
