A few weeks ago at work, my colleague Jason had an awesome buffalo check shirt on. I thought it would make a really cute but sophisticated baby quilt.
My neighbor just became a grandpa for the first time and I want to make him a special quilt. I believe in simplicity for baby quilts (all that spitting up and leaky diapers) and thought a buffalo check (houndstooth-ish) in pink would be cute.
Since I still can’t get down to the sewing room I decided to sketch it out and figure out the math. I am going to use 3.5″ strips/squares and the quilt will be 42″ square when finished. I left a 15.5″ x 6.5″ cut out to embroider the baby’s name – in this case Rosabella.
I also sketched a few bags and figured the pattern pieces and materials for the exterior and lining. I am excited about the top one which will be a cross body bag with two angled pockets on the front. I hope to make that in the next few weeks as I have a bunch of travel coming up and the bag will come in very handy.
Hope you are having a great weekend! I am a little bored while recuperating, but am on the mend and will be stitching again soon!
