Buffalo Check Baby Quilt Variation

I have had so much fun making buffalo check baby quilts since I created the pattern this past spring. I have always done white and two shades of the color. Before the break a friend at work asked for one for a friend of hers who had a baby, but pink, grey, and white. After discussion we agreed on pink, pinker, and grey, and I LOVE it!

I think the grey makes the quilt a little richer and actually helps the personalization panel pop and stand out a little more.

This sweet baby, Tiffany Hope, has a room decorated with elephants so we did a baby elephant embroidery motif. The quilting is Called Animal Parade Elephant Border and I manipulated it into an end-to-end design. I used a darker pink variegated from Superior Threads than usual to make sure the elephants stood out, but changed to the lighter thread over the embroidery.

Cassie will get this beauty tomorrow and then it will be on its way to a new home. I hope Cassie, Tiffany Hope and her mom love it as much as I do. Now I am going to try a blue and a purple with the grey.
