Yesterday I shared the quilts I made and gifted for Christmas, except the two that I am still working on, of course. Today I am sharing everything but the quilts – a sampling of the runners, towels and pillows.

“Man Cave” Pillows

I have seen a version of these at craft shows and made my own version for Christmas gifts. The idea is to pair the recipient’s favorite team with a pocket for their remote control and and another for their mobile phone.

Get it?

I made six of these and they were so much fun. The back is either the team fabric or sports fabric that coordinates with the team on the front.

A few aren’t gifted yet, and one was just with batik fabric instead of featuring a team. They have so much potential. I will be sharing do-it-yourself instructions over the break.

In the meantime, I think the recipients liked them!The Table Runners

I made quite a few table runners and don’t even know that I photographed them all. First up, a runner and a table topper for Mom.

The runner is fabric and a pattern that came in Fat Quarter Shop’s monthly box a few months ago. The fabric is the perfect color blue for my mom’s living / dining room and I think will look great on her table.

I have been trying to use coordinating scraps as soon as I finish a project, so I made Mom this table topper. It started as a pillow cover, but I only had enough for one, so I angled the corners. It is cute as a table topper for a small table they have in their kitchen. I like that it matches but is it’s own design.

We had dinner with my brother and his girlfriend on the 23rd. Patty is really sweet, but I had no idea what to get her. So I made her this poinsettia runner with a coordinating tea towel. The quilting is a green thread and ties the two pieces together well.

She seemed to like her gift, and appreciate that it was handmade.

I made a bunch of holiday runners for clients and colleagues. This one is really festive with a metallic silver inner border and metallic silver running through the other two prints.

The quilting is red poinsettias, and came out great except for that big wrinkle!

For another client I did Santas with coordinating a snowflake border. I made this one last year and loved it, so I did it again this year. And this is why we buy yards of fabric – so when the mood strikes we have the fabric on hand!

The quilting on this one is holly leaves with swirls and also adds a lot to the design.

Embroidery

I always put the embroidery machine to good use over the holidays. I have four things that I haven’t gifted yet, so I can’t share them now, but here are a couple of things that have been delivered.

Beth is a colleague that is one of the kindest and warmest people I have ever worked with. She loves to bake so I had to make her this fun holiday apron.

She really wears it well! Although I should have brought my mini iron to work!!!

I wanted to do some gifts with candles to form a set. I did this one for my sister in law on a terry hand towel. I gave it to her with a snow-themed Yankee candle, thinking they could use it at their ski house. We normally only do gifts for the kids, so I don’t think she was pleased with me, but I hope she enjoys it anyway. 😀

Tomorrow I will share some of the handmade items I bought for others, or received as gifts, as they are precious to me.
